Description

No. 2 West Street is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed chalkstone and brick, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two bays and a left gable facing the street. There is a central door that replaces a previously blocked door in the gable. The windows are timber casements with timber lintels. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils. The roof is half hipped on the left side, and there is a gable stack on the right. To the right of the house is a 20th-century bakehouse, which is one storey and has an attic. This bakehouse has been significantly altered around 1980 and is not considered of special interest.
