Description

Morgans Lodge is a building that possibly dates back to the 16th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features a modern pantile roof. The building has a pair of square ashlar chimneys set diagonally and three gables, with the side gables being triangular and the center gable semi-circular.

It is two storeys high and has three windows on the first floor. The first-floor windows are two-light casements with glazing bars, stone mullions, and dripmoulds, which have been restored. The center window has a cambered head, keystone, and imposts, with a wooden casement that also has glazing bars. The ground floor windows are three-light casements, similarly featuring glazing bars, stone mullions, and restored dripmoulds.

On either side of the central door, there are two small diamond-leaded fixed-light windows with semi-circular heads. The central door itself has a "flattened" pointed arch and chamfered mouldings. There is a semi-circular blocked archway on the ground floor and above the left-hand window. Additionally, there are small wheel window openings on each side of the left-hand first-floor window, with similar restored openings in each side gable. A flat oblong tablet with no inscription is located in the center gable, and there is a blocked four-centred archway with a keystone on the left. The building's appearance suggests it may have been used as a stable or coach-house, and it has undergone considerable restoration.
