Description

This is a 17th-century cottage range located on the B3353. The building is constructed of ochre-washed rubble stone with a stone-tiled roof and follows a ā€˜Z’ plan. The gable end facing the road features a single light in the attic and two-light windows on the ground floor, all with flush cyma-moulded frames and dripstones. The main range on the left has a two-light flush cyma-moulded window on the first floor and a recessed two-light window and door to the right, set within an angle and with a stone tile serving as a hood. There's a stack at the east end of this range. The east end wall includes casement windows above and a recessed hollow-moulded two-light window below. A rear wing extends south, with a triple casement window on the first floor to the right, a pair of casements in a catslide eaves dormer to the left, and a ground-floor oak plank door within an oak frame to the right, with a window and door adjoining to the left. The west end of the main range features an end stack, a three-light recessed hollow-moulded window on the first floor, and a hoodmould over a recessed cyma-moulded two-light ground floor window.
