Description

The Parry Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 3 meters south of the chancel at the southeast end of the Church of St. James. This mid-18th century tomb is made of ashlar stone and features oval side plaques that are flanked by foliate scrolls. It has corner piers adorned with drapery drops, a moulded base, and a cornice, although the capstone is eroded. The inscription on the south side commemorates W. Parry, who died in 1732.
