Description
The Parry monument is located in the churchyard, about 8 meters east of the south-east corner of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Innocents. This Grade II listed structure is a coped tomb commemorating Henry Parry, who died in 1860, and was created by H. Woodyer. The tomb is made of stone and slightly tapers towards the foot. It features a coped top with a tall, floriate cross on the ridge and a four-step base. The edge of the top has roll moulding, and there is a trefoil canopy over the head of the cross, adorned with carved spandrels and crocketed finials on each side, along with a leaf finial at the center. The top is set on a larger coped section, with lettering on the south side slope and a chamfered top to the plinth below. The monument is situated on stone paving at ground level and commemorates the brother of Thomas Gambier-Parry.
