Description
Court Close Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid to later 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone tiled mansard roof with ashlar end wall stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in an L-shape.
The west front includes two hipped dormers and a three-window main range with cyma-moulded flush mullion windows, featuring two-light windows in the centre of the first floor and three-light windows elsewhere. There is a floor band and a central 19th-century door framed by a moulded stone architrave, along with a 19th-century gable porch. The windows have small panes with sash opening lights.
At the rear, there is a mansard roofed wing with two single-storey 19th-century extensions on the north side. The rear angle is infilled with a range parallel to the front, which has a three-light window on each floor, with bead-moulding above and cyma-moulding below. To the right, there is a six-panel door with an overlight.
Attached to the south end of the farmhouse is a rubble stone barn with a 19th-century slate roof, featuring opposed cart entries and a one-window range of nine-pane sashes that adjoins the house.
