Description

Keepers Cottage is a semi-detached cottage dating from the early 18th century. It is built of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with a half-hip on the right and a coped verge on the left. The cottage has an axial brick stack and a stone stack on the left side. The layout follows a baffle-entry plan and is two stories tall with five windows.

The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a moulded architrave, flanked by a five-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement, which was originally two 2-light mullioned casements on either side. On the first floor, there are five 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements, all with leaded glass. The left side of the cottage features a 2-light mullioned casement on the first floor and a single recessed chamfered light in the attic. The rear and interior were not accessible during the survey in February 1986, but it is noted that the interior is said to have beams.
