Description
This is a barn located at Aldbourne Warren Farm, built in the 18th century. It features weatherboarding over timber framing supported by sarsen and brick sill walls, topped with a thatched roof. The barn has seven bays and is aisled on the north side. It includes jowled posts with curved braces connecting to the ties, raking queen struts, a collar, and double purlins. The two bays at the eastern end are floored over. There are two cart entrances on the north side, with thatch extending over them. The sill wall on the north-west side has been repaired, and there is some damage to a section of the thatch. Large barns that still have their traditional roofs are now rare in this area.
