Description

Forge Row consists of three cottages dating from the 17th century, possibly incorporating earlier work. They are built of sarsen rubble with brick quoins around the openings and feature thatched roofs. No. 22 is a two-storey cottage with two bays, positioned at right angles to the other two cottages. Nos. 24 and 26 are one storey with an attic, featuring three bays and a narrow linking section that connects to No. 22, along with a left lean-to. All cottages have boarded doors with glazed panels and two- and three-light paned and leaded windows. No. 24 includes a brick-faced bay and a tie beam that supports the wallplate, indicating cruck construction. The interior has not been inspected.
