Description
Orchard View Cottage is a 17th-century house, possibly built on an earlier structure. It features a timber-framed and painted brick construction with a thatched hipped roof and a stack at the south end. The cottage is single storey with an attic and has exposed framing. The front elevation has an eyebrow above a blocked window to the left, along with a pair of ground floor casement windows and a triple casement. To the right, there is a rubble stone chimney wall that may reveal the foot of a cruck truss. The painted brick south end is likely an addition. The rear of the cottage is rendered and includes a central gable and casement windows. The property's deeds are said to date back to 1721.
