Description

This is a mid-18th century house, originally with an ashlar front and red brick and ashlar dressings elsewhere. It has a Bridgwater-tiled hipped roof and a rear stack. The house has a basement and two storeys, with a formal three-window front of tall proportions. The high ashlar basement has a moulded plinth, and there are 20th-century steps leading to a central door within a raised, moulded surround topped with a hood on scrolled brackets. The windows are set in raised moulded surrounds, featuring 12 panes to each side; the first-floor central window has an arched head with a keystone. A moulded string and moulded eaves cornice run along the top. The centre bay is slightly projected. The end walls are of red brick; the north end has an ashlar basement, a plain band, and a moulded cornice, with a 12-pane window in a raised moulded surround on each floor. The simpler south end has a brick basement, a band, and a two-light beaded mullion window on each floor, along with a blocked door to the left. Inside, there is a beaded fireplace on the ground floor to the left and a dog-leg staircase with a turned newel.
