Description
The Homestead is a 17th-century house that has been altered. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick and a thatched roof that is hipped at the southwest angle. There is a stack at the north end of the building, and it has two storeys.
The front of the house has a long eyebrow over two pairs of casement windows. The pair on the right is positioned above exposed heavy timbers of a former crosswing gable, which includes an angle-braced tie-beam. On the ground floor, there is another pair of casement windows, and to the left, a framed plank door is set in a lean-to tiled porch. The lintel above the door is likely reused from a staircase and is dated IH 1721. Additionally, there is a casement pair on the ground floor. To the left, there is a rubble stone chimney wall. The main range's rear wall also features an eyebrow, and the crosswing has a half-hipped rear gable.
