Description

This is a detached cottage located at the junction with the road to Tisbury, dating from the late 17th century and extended in the 20th century. It is built of dressed limestone with a tiled roof featuring gable end brick stacks and coped verges. The cottage is two stories high and has three windows with casements.

The central feature is a gabled stone porch that has a semi-elliptical opening, complete with a keystone and moulded imposts. The porch also has moulded coped verges and a square block sundial, with stone benches inside and a 20th-century door. To the left of the porch is a two-light casement set in a beaded stone architrave, and to the right is a three-light casement. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement in a beaded stone architrave, a circular fixed window above the porch, and a three-light casement to the right.

The left side of the cottage features a two-light casement on the ground floor and two small chamfered lights on the first floor. The right side has a single casement on the first floor. There is a 20th-century rear wing made of dressed limestone, which is not of special interest. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in November 1985.
