Description
The Mansell monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 1 metre south of the chancel of the Church of St Leonard. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features lyre-shaped end panels with deeply moulded volutes and cartouches. The south side panel is ornately decorated with putti holding open drapery that reveals an inscription, along with additional putti holding books. The lettering is eroded and incised in italic style. The north side has further volutes and a central blank panel. The monument has a chamfered base and slab.
