Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 100 meters south of Longbarrow Roundabout at the junction with the A303 in Winterbourne Stoke. It is made of oolitic limestone and features a shaft that is broken at the top. The shaft has been cut back to accommodate a later metal plate, which is now missing. The milestone has incised lettering indicating the distance of 10. Additionally, there are two benchmarks, one of which is placed sideways.
