Description

The Sophia monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 26 meters south of the south transept of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb has rounded ends and features a table with inset semicircular ends. The top is inscribed within lined panels dedicated to Jane. At the head of the tomb, there is a pentangle within a circle that bears the inscription "SOPHIA."
