Description
Fairholme is a house built in 1868, located on the south side of Church Street in Amesbury. It features rendered brickwork and a slate roof, standing two storeys high with five bays. At the south end, there is an octagonal corner tower. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door, with the upper panels being glazed, set within a porch that has a carved pediment. The walls are divided by shallow pilasters that support a dentilled entablature and parapet. The building has single and double six-paned casement windows, with openings that have egg and dart moulded arrises. The corner tower contains similar but narrower windows with floating pediments above them. Above the eaves, the upper stage of the tower has oculi on alternating sides, topped with a pyramidal roof and weathervane. There are brick stacks, but the interior has not been seen.
