Description
The Coach House is a former stable building dating from the early 19th century, constructed from brick with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. It is two storeys high and features a courtyard plan. The courtyard is accessed from the south through an arched doorway set in a rubble stone screen wall. Inside the courtyard, the brickwork is limewashed.
The south front of the building has three arched entries on the ground floor, with a central door that includes a fanlight, and larger stable doors on either side. Above, there is a gabled arched loading door flanked by lunette windows. The right wing of the building features paired flush-mullioned windows on each floor, with a central pitching-eye above a broad doorway that has a raised flat-headed surround. The left wing is simpler, with a door flanked by windows and a door above a window to the left. The end walls of the wings have flush quoins, and the left side includes large double doors.
The rear wall has two ground floor lunettes and one opening on the upper level. The west end has been extended with rubble stone and features a hipped gable, with an entry on the north side flanked by windows and a single window above the door. Additionally, there is a small two-storey hipped wing extending to the north.
