Description

Studley Brook Farmhouse is an estate farmhouse built around 1850. It features squared ashlar stone blocks and a stone slate roof, with coped shouldered gables and finials, as well as paired octagonal stacks at the rear. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a Tudor-style, T-plan layout.

The south front includes a projecting gable on the right, which has an attic Gothic roundel. The first floor has a two-light stone mullion window, while the ground floor features a three-light stone mullion window, both with hoodmoulds and leaded lights. To the left, there is an ashlar gabled porch with a finial, a single light window above, and a two-light mullion window to the ground floor left. Above this, under an eaves-breaking shouldered gable with a finial and a blank plaque, is a similar window without a hoodmould.

The west gable end has a single light window in the attic, a blank two-light window with a hoodmould on the first floor, and a slightly projected two-light window on the ground floor. The rear of the farmhouse features a gabled wing to the left and a lean-to dairy with a cheese-room above to the right, both with mullion windows. This farmhouse is part of the Wiltshire estate of Lord Crewe, which was inherited from the Hungerford family.
