Description

Malthouse Farmhouse Stable Block is a former stable building dating from around 1800. It is constructed of brick with gault brick dressings and features a black pantiled roof. The original three-bay block has been slightly extended to the side. The building stands two storeys tall, with the original block defined by plain pilasters. The central bay has a large three-centred arch, while the left-hand bay contains five openings with skewback arches at the ground floor. The two-bay addition is marked by two giant order arches with lunettes at their heads, a large three-centred arch to the right, and a window with a skewback arch to the left. Both blocks are topped with a gault brick modillion cornice, and the roof is hipped at the road end.
