Description
Bethel Strict Baptist Chapel is a Baptist chapel built in 1829. It features Flemish brickwork on stone footings and has a slate roof. The chapel is rectangular in shape and includes a timber porch, with lateral wings at the rear; the southern wing was added later and both wings have gable stacks. The central entrance has a 4-centred stone arched doorway with a pair of grained doors, which is set within the later porch. There are two tiers of 2-light windows and a central blind window, all with 4-centred stone surrounds and Y-tracery. Similar but longer windows are located on either side of the pulpit. A date stone is positioned above the porch, and the roof is hipped. The wings feature 20-pane sash windows on the east side. Inside, there is a panelled central pulpit and a gallery.
