Description
The Porter and Sommersett monuments are two chest tombs located in the churchyard, 4 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. Andrew. They date from the late 18th century and are made of limestone.
The first tomb, dedicated to Mary Sommersett who died in 1781, features a moulded table and base, along with a reeded fascia. It has recessed corner balusters and a central cushioned panel flanked by pilasters and drapery.
The second tomb commemorates Mary and Daniel Porter, who died in 1791 and 1804, respectively. It also has a moulded table and base, with recessed corner balusters and side panels divided by fluted pilasters.
