Description

There are six Neale headstones set against the east wall of the chancel at the Church of St. Andrew. These headstones date from the early 19th century and are made of sandstone. Each headstone features well-preserved inscriptions and intricate low relief carvings, including images of trumpeting angels, draped urns, crowns, ribbons, and foliage. The headstones commemorate the following individuals: John Neale, who died in 1801; Philip Neale, who died in 1821; Ann Neale, who died in 1796; Thomas Neale, who died by a momentary stroke in 1788; Frances Neale, who died in 1785; and Philip Neale, who died in 1791.
