HADLOW CHURCH STREET Porter chest tomb approximately 20 metres south south west of the tower of the Church of St Mary

GV II Chest tomb. Dated 1811 in memory of John Porter. Limestone ashlar. Chest has fluted clasping pilasters and one panel each side with moulded frames. Flat lid with moulded edges. Moulded base and two-step plinth. Three sides are inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The north side records the death of John Porter in 1811 and his wife Sophia in 1845. The eastern and southern faces record the deaths of other members of the family.
