Description

The three Telling and Parker monuments are located in the churchyard, 4 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Leonard. These chest tombs date from the late 18th century and are made of limestone. The westernmost tomb is for Susannah Telling, featuring angle pilasters and single panels on the sides with incised Roman and italic lettering, a moulded base, and a cyma recta moulded slab. The second tomb is for Mary Parker, dated 1785, and also has angle pilasters and single panels, with the southern panel adorned with shallow relief putti and vine tendrils, along with incised Roman lettering. Its base is sunk, and it has a cyma recta moulded slab. The third tomb belongs to the Telling family, featuring angle pilasters and single panels, with the southern panel similarly decorated with shallow relief putti and vine tendrils, and incised Roman lettering for Henry and William Telling. It has a moulded base and a cyma recta moulded slab.
