Description

The Turner memorial is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 45 metres south of the Lady Chapel of the Church of St. Michael in Melksham. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone, featuring a slate inscription panel. The top of the tomb is decorated with acanthus leaves, and there are urns and drapery on either side of the panels. The memorial is dedicated to James Turner, although the date is illegible.
