Description
The building is a cottage dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed, although the ground floor has been enclosed or replaced with cob to the rear and a colourwashed random stone front wall. The roof is thatched. The cottage is a single storey with an attic, originally comprising two bays, and it has been extended to the south by a narrow bay and incorporates an outbuilding at the north end. Initially a two-bay gable stack house, it was extended to incorporate an adjoining well house, now used as an entrance hall and stair. Access is through a half-glazed door. There are paned casement windows, and raised dormers to the upper floor. A gable stack and outbuilding are thatched as lean-to structures. Inside the main north room is a spine beam with bar run-out stops. The original stair located beside the stack has been removed. Other original features include a chamfered fire lintel and an oven, the rear of which has also been removed. The room to the south has a rough spine beam.
