Description
The Old Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1800, constructed from Flemish brickwork with slate roofs. It is two storeys high and features a three-bay front block with a central stair hall, along with a parallel rear block that was added in the later 19th century. The central entrance has a six-panelled door, with the upper panels glazed, and a fanlight set within an arched opening, all sheltered by a wide cast iron lattice porch with a swept felt roof. The windows are twelve-paned sashes with painted reveals and concealed boxes, topped with gauged brick lintels. The eaves are narrow and the roof is hipped. The rear block extends one bay to the left of the main block and has two and three-light casement windows with segmental brick arches. At the east end of the rear elevation, there is a two-storey timber-framed bay window, with a stair in the adjoining bay that is slightly raised above the eaves. The roof of the rear block is also hipped.
