Description
The Old House is an 18th-century house located on the east side of The Street in Chirton. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. There are entrances in the second and fourth bays, with the left entrance having a six-panelled door set within a 20th-century timber porch. A plat band runs across the façade. The windows have leaded lights in 18th-century two and three-light frames, and the ground floor openings are topped with segmental arches. The eaves are decorated with brick stretcher dentils. There is a gable stack on the left side and a lean-to structure. On the right side, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension that extends across the rear elevation, which also has 20th-century windows.
