Description
No 5 on Stallard Street is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic and basement. It is constructed of ashlar stone resting on a projecting rubble plinth. The front features three bays, incised pilasters, a plain frieze, and a narrow cornice, topped with a parapet that has a projecting coping. The first-floor balcony has been removed. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with three on the first floor, two on the ground floor, and a central six-panel door with a plain fanlight set in an arched opening with moulded springers. The basement, which is below modern approach steps, has two windows. Nos 5 to 9 form a group, with No 9 noted for its local interest.
