Description
No 6 Stallard Street is a detached house built around 1830-1840, featuring an ashlar front. The house has two storeys and three windows, with a slight central break and a later addition of a two-storey, three-light square bay window to the left. It has a double ridge roof with a single window extension to the south-west below the rear ridge, covered with pantiles and double Roman tiles. The building has a narrow cornice and a blocking course. The windows are glazing bar sash types with architraves, except for the casement windows in the bay.
The central break contains a round arched doorway with moulded imposts and a traceried fanlight, leading to a six-panel door, where the lower two panels are reeded. To the right, there is a lean-to. The rear of the house is also made of ashlar and features three plus two windows. A door to Station Way has a rectangular fanlight with marginal glazing and is accessed by five steps with a plain guard rail. There is a cast iron garden gate to the south-west, featuring arrowhead rails, dog rails, and a curved brace.
Nos 5 to 9 Stallard Street form a group, with No 9 being of local interest.
