Description

The entrance screen to Studley Mills, built around the 1860s to 1870s, features a dwarf rubble wall topped with cast iron railings that have fleur de lys heads and dog rails with arrow heads. It is supported by four ashlar piers that have moulded cornices. The entrance includes cast iron foot and carriage gates that match the design of the railings. This structure, along with Nos. 50 to 58 (consecutive), the workshop at the rear of No. 58, and the principal factory and Handle House at Studley Mills, forms an important group.
