Description
The Rose and Crown Public House is a mid-19th century building located on Stallard Street. It is constructed from painted brick and features three storeys in the main section, which is framed by stone pilaster strips, a cornice band, and a blocking course that has central and end breaks. The building also has a first-floor cill band and a plinth.
The windows are glazing bar sash types with stone surrounds: paired on the second floor, tripartite on the first floor, and with a cornice on the ground floor. There is a stone surround to the doorway on the left, which has a shallow block pediment and a two-panel door with a plain rectangular light above it. To the left, there is a two-storey extension that features two two-light windows on the first floor and two single-light windows on the ground floor, all with plate glass sashes. The building has brackets to the gutter and is topped with double Roman tiles. Additionally, there is a tall doorway with a raised stone surround on the left, which has a six-flush panel door and a rectangular light above.
