Description
This description covers a pair of chest tombs located in the churchyard, 10 to 12 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. John. These monuments date from the early 19th century and are made of limestone. The northern tomb features a moulded table with a stepped superstructure, an inscribed panel with a carved surround, and fluted pilasters at the ends dedicated to Edward Habgood. The southern tomb has a moulded entablature, a recessed panel between fluted pilasters, and a moulded base, commemorating Thomas Habgood and Elizabeth, who died in 1807.
