Description

The Cross in Latton, located at the junction of the main road and the road leading to the church, is a medieval wayside or preaching cross. It features a square stone base and a strongly tapered octagonal shaft, although part of the shaft was restored after an accident in 1982. The cross has an octagonal base, with alternate sides ending in gables. It is noted that the upturned end of the shattered cross may have originally displayed Roman lettering, suggesting it could have been a milestone.
