Description

The Village School, built around 1860, is a parish school that has been converted into a general hall. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building consists of a three-bay schoolroom topped with a gable bellcote. There is a projecting porch that connects the schoolroom to a second gabled classroom. The windows are arch-headed and consist of two and three lights. The porch itself has a two-centred arch. This building remains largely unspoiled and is a notable example of a village school.
