Description

WYLYE CHURCH STREET SU 03 NW (north side) 2/113 Railed enclosure and gate piers on south edge of churchyard, about llm south of Church of St. Mary GV II Large railed enclosure. C18. Limestone ashlar dwarf wall with fielded panels and coping to fine cast and wrought-iron railings with scrolled panels and twisted corner posts with small vase finials, about 1.3 metres high. Cast and wrought-iron gate at west end. Dedication unknown and no tomb visible within enclosure. Stone gate piers attached to west of enclosure, probably C18. Left pier is monolithic cylinder with conical capping, right pier is square with moulded capping.
