Description
The railings and walled enclosure surrounding the Church of St. Mary date from the mid to late 19th century. They consist of a coursed, rock-faced sandstone plinth wall, iron railings, and gates, which are set around three sides of the church, separating it from the churchyard. The wall features chamfered coping. The railings include two rows of cast-iron fleur-de-lys and have square-section, intermediate standards topped with decorative finials. There is a matching gate located opposite the south door of the tower, and a short break in the railings is found to the west of the tower. These features are included for their group value.
