Description

Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1736, likely marking its rebuilding. It features pebble-dashed sandstone and a Welsh slate roof with renewed brick stacks. The structure consists of a 3-storey, 3-room block on the left with a partial outshut, and a 2-storey, single-room block on the right. There are six first-floor windows in total.

The 3-storey section has exposed quoins and square-faced surrounds for the chamfered-mullion windows, which have wooden casements. A 20th-century door is located to the left within a stone architrave that includes plinth blocks and a panel above displaying the date and initials 'G' and 'I M'. To the left of the door is a 2-light window, and to the right are two 3-light windows with partially renewed surrounds. The first-floor windows mirror this arrangement, with a single-light window above the door. There are four second-floor windows, consisting of 2-light windows with a single-light window above the door, all of which are blind except for the right window. The gable features shaped kneelers and square-cut copings, with a stack positioned above the door and an end stack to the right.

The 2-storey section has quoins on the right and a lower chamfered part. An earlier doorway at the junction with the 3-storey part has a chamfered, quoined surround with a shaped lintel. There are 2-light windows on both floors to the right, although the mullions have been removed. A blocked single-light window is located above the door. The right kneeler is eroded, and gable copings have been removed at the rear.

Inside the 3-storey part, there are brick-vaulted cellars and exposed stop-chamfered spine beams in the ground-floor rooms on the right, along with an ashlar fire surround in the right room. The interior also features an 18th-century staircase and two 18th-century fireplaces on the first floor. The 2-storey part retains a doorway with a draw-bar and socket, and there are stone stairs leading to the first and second floors of the 3-storey section.
