Description

The building at the rear of Number 12 High Street is an early 19th-century warehouse, with a later 19th-century addition at the back. It is constructed from limestone rubble and dressings, along with brick, topped by an interlocking tile roof. The structure is designed as an open warehouse with a gable facing the street and a left-hand dogleg plan. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and features a two-window gable range.

The street-facing gable has irregular quoins and cambered rubble heads above a central doorway that contains double 20th-century doors. There are blocked openings on each side, a central hoist doorway on the first floor, and higher windows on either side featuring 25-pane windows, along with a matching central attic window. The irregular left-hand return has three windows on the ground floor with timber lintels, and taller first-floor windows positioned under the eaves.

The rear section is built of brick on the first floor, with cambered brick heads and irregular quoins above three ground-floor windows. There is a four-panel door situated between the right-hand pair of windows, and a large circular opening at the left end fitted with 20th-century glazing and a door. The second floor has 8/8-pane sash windows. The interior has been altered and currently shows no visible features of interest.
