Building To The Rear Of 87 High Street

This building, located to the rear of 87 High Street, dates from the 18th century and may incorporate some earlier elements along with later alterations. It is a three-storey, irregularly shaped warehouse with a rectangular plan and an uneven arrangement of windows, situated in the heart of the town behind Market Street. The exterior features rubble stonework with raised margined red dressings around the first-floor windows, rough quoins on other sides, and smoother cement margins at the ground level. There are entrance doors in the outer bays, while the center has a blocked former entrance. A projecting rubble chimney breast is present, along with remnants of a demolished neighboring building on the east gable.

The upper floors are fitted with multi-pane timber windows, and the building has a pitched roof with cast-iron rainwater goods. There is also a conjoined brick stack on the west side.
