Description

This milestone, located on High Street Brow in Ogbourne St George, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and features a shaft shaped like a chord of a cylinder with a grooved top. The painted inscriptions indicate directions: on the left, it reads "TO SWINDON 7," and on the right, "TO MARLBORO' 4."
