Description

The Canning monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard opposite the west door of the Church of St. George. It dates from the 19th century and features a moulded table and base, with a reeded top. The sides have panels that are separated by a draped urn in relief. The monument commemorates Robert Canning, who died in 1832, as well as his daughter Mary, who died in 1826, and Elizabeth, who died in 1840.
