Description

The Forge is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of greensand and faced in Flemish brickwork, topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring three bays. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled half-glazed door set within a bead arris moulded monolithic stone surround. The windows are two-light casements, each with painted moulded stone surrounds, and all openings are topped with gauged brick lintels. There is a plat band running along the façade. To the right, there is a 20th-century bow oriel window with a felt roof. The house also has two flat-roofed dormers and a stack on the right gable, with the roof being half hipped to the left.
