Description
Inglefield Farmhouse is a house that was originally a butcher's shop and farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed greensand rubble with a tiled roof that has replaced the original thatch. The building has two storeys and a cellar, featuring three wide bays, with the right bay being a later 18th-century rebuild. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door with a combined window above it, all sheltered by a hipped slated canopy. The right bay is distinguished by brick quoins and a plat band. The windows are twelve-paned sashes with moulded frames, while the ground floor has four-light sashes. The house has gable stacks and a continuous pantiled lean-to at the rear, along with a two-storey wing added in the late 19th to early 20th century. The interior has not been seen but may hold some interest.
