Description
The White House is a Grade II listed farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and malmstone, topped with a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and features three bays. Inside, there is a central stair hall with a living kitchen located in the wider right bay. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with a flat canopy supported by shaped brackets. A moulded string course runs along the exterior. The left ground floor room, originally the parlour, has a tripartite sash window, while the right bay contains three-light paned windows with segmental brick lintels. On the upper floor, there are three-light moulded stone windows with leaded glazing. The right side has a gable stack, and there is an external stack on the left. Although the interior was not seen, there is a large open fireplace in the right room. The building was previously used as a cooper's shop.
