Description
The Old Manor at Old Manor Hospital is a building that was completely rebuilt around 1840-1850. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of painted brick, featuring a cornice and parapet. At the southeast corner, there is a projecting truncated tower with rusticated stucco surrounds to the windows, along with traces of an earlier window head above. The upper stage has bevelled sides. The main east front includes four windows on the second floor, one of which is in a slightly projecting stucco bay that extends from the entrance. There are two-storey canted bays on the ground and first floors flanking the entrance, which has cornices, a blocking course, a panelled frieze, and aprons. The windows have marginal glazing and are fitted with flush framed sashes. The entrance door consists of four panels within an architrave surround.
The porch features fluted pilasters on the walls, fluted Doric columns at the front, and a projecting moulded cornice. The north front mirrors the east front with similar windows in stucco architraves and includes a first-floor canted bay. There is also an octagonal three-storey tower topped with an ogee-shaped leaded roof and a bracketed cornice. To the west, a projecting two-storey wing has a painted brick cornice and parapet, with sash glazing bar windows. To the right of the tower, there are three arcaded windows with a swagged parapet above, and in the corner, there is a small narrow conservatory with an octagonal glazed lantern.
