Description
Emmanuel Free Evangelical Church, built in 1860, features an ornate debased classical front. The church is constructed of red brick and consists of three bays, with flanking stone pilasters. It has a full-width pediment and a cornice that is broken in the center by a rounded architrave with fluted keystones that extend into the pediment. Below the pediment is a lunette and a panel framed by pilasters. There are two round-headed windows on each floor on either side, with stone pilaster surrounds and architraves above. The large central domed porch protrudes outward, featuring arched architrave openings that are divided by fluted pilasters that rise from scrolls on pedestals. The porch also has a moulded cornice and a panelled frieze that is broken forward over the pilasters.
