Description
The Paragon is a pair of semidetached houses located at 3 and 4 Wilton Road, built around 1850. These two-storey structures are made of grey brick and feature a recessed dividing band down the center of the front. They are positioned at right angles to the road, facing another similar pair, Nos 1 and 2 The Paragon, across a garden. The houses have a low-pitched hipped slate roof and each has two windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars, with the ground floor windows being taller. All windows have flat rendered arches with keystones.
At either end of the houses are recessed doors with six fielded panels, each topped by a marginal glazed rectangular fanlight. The doors have panelled reveals, reeded doorheads, and are flanked by reeded quarter columns, a frieze, and a shallow leaded cornice. Number 3 features a recessed extension in the same style on the street side, which includes two first-floor windows and one ground-floor window.
Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive) form a group.
