Description

Kingsmoor House is a late 19th-century building that was rebuilt from an 18th-century house. The south elevation, which is the most impressive, features two storeys and is finished in stucco, with a parapet surrounding a curved bay window that faces west. The roof is covered with peg tiles and has two tall, elegant red brick chimneys. Behind the parapet, there are three dormers with curved tops, each containing pairs of small-paned casements. Below, an eaves-band supports a row of five small-paned hornless sash windows. The ground floor includes a semi-hexagonal bay window topped with a copper-clad double ogee roof and full-height small-paned casements, flanked by two matching sashes.

The west front is U-shaped, featuring two curved bays on the left and right, each with coped parapets and three small-paned hornless sashes on both storeys. Between these bays stands an Ionic portico with two columns and a fretted balustrade at the first-floor level. The east front is essentially H-shaped, with two storeys and attics, and numerous dormers of various shapes, all fitted with small-paned hornless sashes. Centrally located in a recess is a Neo-Classical porch, which is semi-hexagonal in shape and topped with a broken swan-necked pediment. Inside, there are some wide panelled 18th-century door leaves and a well-crafted dog-legged hardwood staircase with a handrail.
